Kat's voice still shook as she spoke, and she was still looking him over waiting to see if she trusted him. "What d-does she speak?"
"Well, Our parents passed and there really wasn't anything left for us there. And you know, America is the land of opportunity." Which was a better answer than my Parents were murdered by our King and Queen and the rest of our village looked at us like pariahs so we fled as far away from them as we could.

He couldn't believe how timid she was. In a way it was cute but they were sophomores in high school. He wondered what happened to make her this way. "She speaks lots of languages. French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Gaelic, just about everything I can think of. She's a quick learner too. If there's a language with a different dialect she can usually figure it out pretty quickly. Whereas with me, I'm still trying to learn just one language." He laughed, hoping she'd maybe laugh with him.
Seri's hand instinctively went to rest on top of Micah's. "I'm so sorry. That must have been hard on you both. My mom died when I was eight so it's just been me and my dad since then. He's pretty good, but he still can't make those cookies." She smiled, trying to lighten the mood.

She smiled a timid smile. "She speaks Russian? I'll have to tell my Bubby." There was someone that they could talk to. That would make him happy.
Micah closed his other hand over her's, giving it a light squeeze. "I'm sorry for you loss. I was five or six, I can't even really remember now. And I wish it was just cookies that Amran couldn't make. He's kind of the worst cook on the planet." He smiled at her.

Before Jameson could say anything else, the bell rang for the next class. "Well, to be continued?" He posed it as a question to see if she even wanted to talk to him again.
Seri blushed a thousand shades of red. He was now holding her hand and smiling at her. Braden turned to look at them and cleared his throat. "Time to go." He glared at Micah.
Seri took back her hand and tucked her hair behind her ear. "Well, I'm a self taught cook so I'm not all that great either but I can make simple things. Anyway, see you later." She picked up her backpack and left the room.

Kat just smiled shyly at him and gathered her things and headed to her neck class, trying to get through the mess of people without getting ran over.
Micah smiled at her. "See you around!" He turned to Sean. "So, my good friend... Where are you off to?"

Sean chuckled watching Braden glower his way out the door. "You are really aiming to piss him off aren't you? I've got gym. What about you?"

"Me too." He smirked, leaving the other question unanswered as he walked out of the classroom.
