Ryan set out the thick books on all the desks before his new students came in. He knew most of them were Juniors and he was less than pleased that Keira would be in it. That girl had become a royal pain in the ass. He hoped her sister didn't follow in her footsteps. This class was relatively smaller than his other ones just because it was advanced math. He placed a syllabus inside the cover of each book and welcomed back the students as they entered. Keira of course snubbed him but he didn't care. If she stepped one foot out of line he was pitching her out of class.
Landread caught up with Karra before they entered class. "She accepted. I couldn't believe it when Naevia said that but yeah. Oh, and would you read over my obituary to see if it's alright?" He smiled big at her.

Karra laughed. "There's somethin' that ain't right 'bout this. But alright, since I'll probably being the writin' your real one!" She smirked as she took the paper and found a seat away from Keira. She was even more cunty this year than she had been in the past. She whispered to Landread. "You know that we can't let Satan know right about the love birds, right?"

Landread nodded. "Yeah I know. If the flirt anymore then they are going to out themselves. Especially if it's during homeroom or lunch. By the way, who was the dude that was offering you sweet tea? I thought you only liked my sweet tea. Well, besides your mother's of course." He added the last comment to that only because he didn't want to sound jealous. He probably still did but at least he could add humor to it.
Naevia walked in and saw Karra and Landread talking together. She walked up to them and pointed at the seat in front of them. "Mind if I sit with you guys?"

Karra just stuck her tongue out at him. "Baby, you know you'll always be my favorite sweet tea! And he's a new kid from 'Bama. His names Jake." Did she sense a hint of jealousy? When had that come along? They had been friends for years and he'd never gotten jealous before, even when a senior had asked her to Homecomming the year before. She was shaken from her thought when Naevia walked in.
"Course you can! Have a seat, darlin'!"

Landread looked at her tongue and watched her lips move as she spoke. Damn, when had this happened? She'd gone from his bestie to a girl he'd really like to get with. Possessiveness was driving him retarded. He was thankful for Naevia's distraction.
Naevia smiled and plopped down in her seat. "So yay, numbers and letters all mixed together!" She groaned. She hated Math. It was even worse when it was Algebra.
Ryan didn't have any rules for the class so he started going over the syllabus and workbook with them. Each quarter they would have two major tests. They were to at least look over the material and pay attention in class so they would succeed on them but the homework for each quarter wasn't considered late until the quarter ended. That way whether they wanted to do it all up ahead of time or wait until last minute, as long as he had it in his hand by the end of the day on the last day of the quarter, it still counted. Then he started going over his lesson quickly for the day.
Landread tried not to fall asleep and Naevia tried to follow along.

Karra was great at Math. Actually Karra was fairly good at just about everything, which was a benefit for Landread, he just took all the same classes she did and she made sure he passed.
Every time he started to nod off, she kicked him. Either he was going to learn to stay awake or he was going to have a bruised shin by the end of class. At least lunch as after this, she was getting hungry.

Landread groaned every time he was kicked. After the third time he tried to force himself to stay awake. Everything was blurring together. He needed caffeine and food. His stomach was rumbling so loud that Ryan stopped his lecture and broke out a Snickers bar and set it on his desk. The class had a round of laughs.

Karra just laughed. "Have a snickers, you turn in to a bit of a demon when yer hungry."
"Do I need to start bringin' snacks for ya too? You are hopeless!" She just smiled at him and shook her head.

Landread chuckled and leaned back in the chair. "Thanks." He opened it and munched on it happily. Since he knew Karra was hungry too he held it out so she could take a bite. He felt a bit bold and he wanted to see her reaction so he leaned in close and whispered in her ear. "You could be my snack."

She leaned over and took a bite off the candy bar he was holding. He had planned on stealing a bite anyway, but he offered so it was even better. She almost choked, however at his statment. She just looked at him with a interested confusion. What had come over her beaner? She swallowed what was in her mouth, licking the chocolate off her lips. And whispered back. "Sugar, I don't think you could handle a taste of this."
She sat back and wondered what had come over her. She was sex kitten! Hell, she was still a virgin! In fact she had kneed the Senior in the balls last year when he tried to get handsy with her on the way to prom. She ended up at Landread's house in pair of his jeans, the top of her prom dress and her boots, listening to him play his guitar. She had gotten out when they stopped to pick up one of his friends and walked to Landread's place pissed off and crying.

Landread just smiled at her. At least she didn't outright reject him. It meant he could move passed being just friends with her if he was careful.
Ryan finished his lecture and let the students have their time to do their homework or talk amongst themselves. Naevia turned around to Karra and Landread. "Please tell me you guys understand this stuff."

Karra just smiled. "I got this, y'all know I got this. So, is it gonna be once a week or every two weeks y'all drag me to the coffee shop to help y'all with your homework? I need ta know so I can plan my schedule around it." She laughed as she started doing some of the homework.

Landread smirked. "I vote every week. Just because I love coffee and those crusty bread thingies."
Naevia giggled at him. "You mean biscotti?"
He shook his head. "No, I meant crusty bread thingies."

Karra just laughed. She had great friends. "I think yer both retarded, but I'll make sure you pass this class either way. And I'm mighty partial to the flaky bread thingies!"

Landread smirked at Naevia. "See? She gets me." He laid his head on her shoulder. He didn't know why he was being so touch feely or possessive today but she wasn't stopping him so until then he was going to continue. Naevia just laughed at him.
