Terryn drove Cain and Kieran into school. He was typically one of the first teachers there with the exception of Ivan. Kieran gave a mumbled grunt as he got out of the car. He was not looking forward to starting up classes again and went straight to the cafeteria for breakfast. Terryn walked to the office and knocked on Anna's door casing with a smile. "Look who tagged along with me this morning. Couldn't leave him at the house all alone." He looked at Cain. "Good luck man."
Dante stood at the side of Anna's desk quietly, his arms crossed over his chest in true body guard form. The uniform was laid out on her desk for the new SRA that he had nothing to do with the hiring of, which peeved him slightly. He didn't move or speak to greet the new man. He only knew that he was a childhood friend of Anna's which made him uneasy. He wasn't a fan of the past. His or hers.

Anna looked up and smiled, hopping out of her seat to wrap her arms around her old friend.
She spoke in the language of home. "Hey there! Oh my god, it's been forever!" She squeezed him tightly and kissed his cheek.
Cain chuckled and spoke in English. "Come on now, Annie. We're not back home and your lifemate looks like he wants to eat me." He hugged her back, noticing the bump. He stepped back from her and planned his hand gently on her distended belly.
"That's fantastic. Congratulations, to TO both of you."
He offered his hand to Dante you shake if he wished, he looked him in the eyes, not as a threat, but as a matter of respect.
"You must be Dante. It's an honor to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you."

Dante's jaw tightened when the man hugged her. He instantly disliked his nickname for her. He almost came unglued when his hand touched her stomach but he held himself in place. He stared into his eyes for a moment, just trying to get a read on him. Finally he took his hand and gave him a firm handshake.
"Welcome to the States and to Turner. I hope it suits you." He wasn't much of a people person so he didn't know what else to say. He placed his hand on the small of Anna's back, not as a territorial thing, just because he needed the closeness to her. "Are you excited about your job? Babysitting ornery children?"

"Better than cocky soldiers. And the hygiene over here is a lot better. Thank you for the job. I think I would have gone insane just sitting at Terryn's day in and day out." He gave him a firm shake and didn't acknowledge this obvious discomfort with his presence. Anna and Terryn had both warned him about Dante's temperament.
"So, anything in particular I should know, or just no smoking or screwing in the bathrooms and don't let them kill each other? This is my first day school, ever."

If Dante had been drinking he would have spit it in Cain's face. What the hell was wrong with him? Though the only outward reaction he had was a brow raised very high. He was not impressed by his sense of humor.
"The SRA's that work here don't take their job lightly. It is for the safety of the children that we are here. There are quite a few supernaturals both on staff and in the student body. Some have just recently awakened. All have a different temperament and mentality. I hope you learn to respect that. I'm going to pair you up with Shawn. His first duty is the front parking lot seeing all students come in safely. There you will learn who is who and what you will need to watch out for." He had gone completely into drill sergeant mode.
He got inside Anna's mind. "I'm going to eat him."

"I'm sorry if you took this to mean that I'm mocking the position. I'm well aware of the unique nature of this school. Anyway, I'll get changed and find Sean, sir." He just looked at him dead faced and nodded. He smiled at Anna.
"Do you like your Lifemate, Annie?" He whispered in her mind.
Anna just shook her head.

Dante was about to correct him when he snapped himself out of military mode. 'Sir' would have to suffice. He nodded and walked into his adjoining office confident he had gotten his point across. He felt that he may have disappointed Anna in some way but he'd make it up to her later. He loathed having his authority tested.
Shawn pulled his truck into his normal parking spot. Grabbing his coffee, he got out and sat in the bed. It was a cooler morning but it didn't bother him much. The only extra item of clothing he had on passed his norm was his black beanie. He nodded to the teachers and students as they came in. He wasn't the first one there but he didn't have to be. He just had to be there before the bulk of the people showed up. He made sure to wolf whistle at Stormy as she got out of her car like he did every morning with a smirk. He picked up on his radio that the new SRA was coming out to join him. He chuckled at the disdain in Dante's voice but only after he was sure he couldn't hear him. He didn't want to lose his job.

Cain quickly pulled his shirt off in the teacher's lounge, not really paying attention to who may be walking in and out. He replaced it with his new uniform and walked outside.
"I don't think Annie's mate likes me much." He spoke in Terryn's head as he looked for another man in uniform.

Terryn chuckled. "Don't take it personally. He doesn't like many people much. I take it you got the same reception I did. But we were here first so he can suck it."
Shawn kept his eye out for the noob. As soon as he walked out he just about horked his coffee. "You know nothing Jon Snow," he muttered under his breath before letting out an ear piercing whistle and waved the new guy over. "Hey, I'm Shawn. I guess you're shadowing me this morning?" He was not going to be able to take this seriously. He sincerely hoped the dude had seen Game of Thrones because eventually he was going to end up calling him Jon.

Cain turned at the sound and walked over to the large man. He offered his hand again, really hoping that the whole damned staff didn't have the same stuck up their ass as the boss.

Shawn took his hand and gave it a quick shake with a smile on his face. "Cain? Nice to meet you as well. Welcome to the school. Cop a squat. Uh, this is the parking lot." He chuckled. "Some of the buses are scheduled to be here in a few minutes. I'm guessing they let you in on the whole supernatural deals. Most of those kids get rides or drive themselves. How good are you at pointing out the races? I can give you a quick run through if you need it. I just didn't want to insult your intelligence. Not all races can pick them out as easily as I can."

"Yeah, Annie and Terryn clued me in. Shifters I'm usually pretty good with. Angels, demons and mages I can usually feel. Not sure why, it's like a spider sense. Changelings, it depends on what Kith they are. I'm no good with Exhaulteds though. And I know mine before they get here. I sent a could decades with Soviet and British special forces, so I'm pretty good at reading people... Without using the gifts God gave me." He smiled back, so far he seemed better than Dante.

Shawn smirked when he called the principal 'Annie' but he was part of the family so it was probably a pet name. That was most likely the reason for Dante's attitude. "Awesomesauce. I'll point out our supers and if you have any questions, let me know. Other than that, kick back and relax. Most of the time, this is a pretty laid back job. Shit. I probably just jinxed us...eh." He shrugged. Anything could happen.
Eventually students started showing up. Riq showed up with Des, Kyrian and Talon, saluting Shawn on the way in. James and El showed up with their bunch and a small group started at the picnic table. Marie and Shay showed up soon after. Courtney finally hauled Jameson in. Kaleb brought Shannon and Brighid in. Dash, Alli and Lydia arrived by bus. Mr. Winters dropped Sabine and Raven off. And Ahmed and Titi finally showed up. She wasn't speaking to anyone. Vacation had not been long enough and it was too damn cold. She was waiting for Micah to show up so she could cuddle up with him.
Shawn pointed each kid out with their names but not loud enough for anyone else to pick up on the conversation.

Cain watched and listened about each student that came in. He was impressed with the man's knowledge of the students. He really did care about his job. That was encouraging. He smiled and nodded at Falcon's mate and Ivan's. They were both lucky men. He laughed to himself thinking about Ivan going crazy trying to keep Mikhail's rules while Falcon said fuck it.
He saw the Egyptian goddess get out of the car, he couldn't help to stare at her for about three seconds too long before shaking his head free from the fog and going back to listening to Shawn.
Micah was sitting outside, eagerly waiting for Titi to arrive, it has only been a couple days since he'd seen her last but he missed her being close... Not that he'd ever admit that out loud. He knew she was going to be cold, so he wore his larger jacket so he could wrap them both in it.
"Good morning, Princess." He smirked at her and opened his coat.

Titi smiled as soon as she saw him and happily entered his coat. She kissed his cheek. "Good morning handsome. I brought you some espresso chocolate." She cuddled in close to his warmth. "Did school have to start? I wasn't ready. It's too cold. They should shut down school for the winter. This is ridiculous." She pouted up at him.
Ahmed rolled his eyes at his baby sister. "You know you run hotter than most people, right?"
She glared at him. "Which is exactly why I feel the cold all the more acutely," she snapped at him.
He sighed and shook his head. "Whatever. I'm going to get breakfast."
Shawn noticed Shawn looking at them for a minute so he leaned over and whispered. "Kit. Both her and her brother. The only other one we have is Des and he's a half breed." He was mistaking his gawking for confusion on their race.
