"He was cool as hell. A great sense of humor and wasn't afraid to run around with us kids. He wasn't as brooding as Gregori or Annie's dad. But, if anything threatened us kids or our village, he was fierce and unforgiving." He missed Terryn's parents so much. He still didn't know exactly what had happened to them. No one really talked about it. He just know that his dad went down fighting.

"That explains a lot about him and the way he treats Kieran. That and the fact that he's a Carpathian. He puts on a good face and most of the kids believe it but if you look into his eyes you can tell it's not real."
She looked down at him. "Not that I have a crush on him or anything. I always analyze people like that. It's why I want to be a phychologist."

He smiled at her. "His eyes were his biggest give away when the color left him. It kills me to see him like this. You're right, he puts on a great face, but then some say I did too. But I've known him all my life and he's not the same. I hope he finds her soon."

"Is there no other way to find a lifemate besides searching aimlessly?"
She felt so bad for them. For all of them. To search until they could finally find happiness and then some didn't make it at all. It was heartbreaking.

"Not that I know of. Our ancestors got cursed thousands and thousands of years ago. So long ago that I think Mikhail is the only one who remembers why, and part of the curse is that it be extremely difficult to find our one true mate. The keeper of our souls. It's not suppose to be easy. I'm just glad Terryn is strong, he'll last for quite a while, I just didn't want him to have to."

"Is Mikhail the oldest among you?" She was so curious about everything.
"That he is and our Prince. You'll meet him one day." Terryn walked right in and forced a laugh when Titi literally jumped off his desk.

"Always have to make an entrance, don't you?" Cain smiled at his friend.
"You'll meet Mikhail soon enough. He's a wonderful man. It's Jacques and Gregori that I'll have to save you from." He stood up and moved from the desk. Giving Terryn back his chair.

"So did you get anything done or were you two just flirting all through class?" He smirked at Cain.
Titi blushed harder than she'd ever blushed in her entire life. "I got my entire lesson done thank you very much. And he helped me with my math."
"Good." Terryn sat down in his chair all smuglike.

"See, I'm a good boy. And I can multitask!" He smirked and winked at her.
"And why do you look so pleased with yourself?" He looked Terryn over. What had he been up to?

"No reason other than I caught you." He wished he could be happy for his friend. Faking emotions was really getting tiring. Especially since it seemed like every other Carpathian around him was finding their lifemate and he couldn't even be bitter about it.

"Caught me? Ha. I want doing anything worth being caught doing! Not like when he were kids and you and Annie got caught in a bit of 'show me yours, I'll show you mine'" he turned. And saw Titi still standing there.
"Oops, shit. My bad. Please pretend I didn't say that!"

Her jaw dropped open in surprise. She sit it quickly and giggled. "Yeah I think I should probably go so I don't hear any more about my principal that I don't need to know." She scooped up her things. "I'll talk to you later." And she took off.
Terryn raised his eyebrow. "Good job Cain. Now she's not going to be able to look at Anna straight anymore. And you know that Anna is going to question us about it."

Cain watched Titi leave the room before snapping back to reality.
"Yeah. I guess I just hope that she doesn't see Annie too much. She doesn't seen like the type to get sent to principal's office much."
"So, get what you needed to do done?"

"She's not. And yes, thank you." Terryn wasn't trying to be secretive about it but unless he was specifically asked what he was doing he wasn't telling anyone. It would make him sound crazy and he wasn't giving up just yet. She would find it.
"Anyway, don't you have a job you're supposed to be doing? Wandering the halls aimlessly and pestering people?"

"Yeah, I suppose you're right. But pestering you is so much more rewarding!" He smirked before walking out the door to find Shawn or Riq to wander with. All in all, he liked the staff he worked with. It was really just Dante that bothered him. Mostly cause he was a douche and Annie could have done better. She should have done better.
