Ivan hung a sign outside his classroom door that said "Freshmen Home Room" in huge letters. His was the closest to the main entryway so it was easiest for the new students to find. He sat back at his desk and tried to tame the mass of dirty blonde waves he called hair. He finally just pulled it back and secured it at the nape of his neck. He knew what most of the other teachers thought of him and most of the students as well. He was broody, antisocial and just needed to get laid. Well, that would happen if he could just find his lifemate. He wasn't broody. In fact, he didn't feel any emotions therefore it was impossible. The only reason he was antisocial was due to the fact that most people couldn't take his blunt way of speaking and couldn't understand why he didn't laugh at their jokes. He found them humorous, he just didn't have it in him to laugh.
About an hour before the first bell would ring, a young student walked into his room that he recognized. Kieran's uncle, Terryn, had been hired by Anna to teach Foreign Languages to help Courtney out. It was a pity what had happened to the boy's parents. Stupid humans didn't know Carpathians from Vampires and had killed his mother for being one and then his father went insane with guilt because he had not been home at the time and lost his soul. It had been a terrible time for Kieran as it took a little too long for the Carpathian hunters to get to him and get him somewhere safe. But the boy had healed miraculously. The only problem now was the boy's highly introverted personality.
Kieran made himself comfortable at one of the desks and pulled out a book. He was happy to have a few of his own kind in the school and it put him at ease that one of them was his home room teacher. He only feared the rest of the students coming in and trying to talk to him.

Sabine slipped into class, hoping that no one would notice her. She hated the first day of school. Everyone always wanted to catch up. She never had anything to catch up with. Just taking care of her parents. She didn't really get to go out much. She had friends, but she always had to make excuses as to why she couldn't go and hang out or have people over.
Alli came in to class on Dash's back. "Woah, horsey! Easy, easy... Put me down nice and I'll give you a carrot." She smirked as she smacked him on the ass. She was so excited to finally be in high school. This was going to be a whole new start. To her being even more awesome! She looked around the room to see who was there already. She waved to Sabine and smiled, then she spotted the new boy in the back of the room. "Oooh, there's a new kid. Hi new kid! I'm Allison. And this fine steed is Dash. Don't ask, his parents are hippies! What's your name?"

Dash laughed at Alli and let her down easy. She was nice and light so he could carry her anywhere. Now if she only got the clue that he was into her that would be great. But they were in a whole new school now. Maybe he'd find someone who wasn't so oblivious. He walked over with her to the new kid who looked like he was trying to shrink as far into his chair as he could.
Kieran looked nervously at the two rambunctious kids that had entered the room. "Hi. I'm Kieran." He didn't know what else to say. He was lost when it came to social interactions.
Ivan acknowledged the students that came in. He nodded to Sabine and then to Dash and Alli, giving Dash a pointed look to put the girl down, to which he obliged. Then his eyes wandered back to the blue eyed girl who sat by herself. She was as pale as a porcelain doll making her pink lips stand out and her raven hair even darker. The revelation hit him like a ton of bricks. But she was so young. Centuries of feelings washed over him until he felt like he was going to puke. He shut his eyes to the vibrant colors in the room that assailed his eyes. He was going to be sick.

"Nice to meet you, welcome to midwest hell. Where all good ideas go to die!" She giggled then remembered what she had heard from the other kids about Kirowitz being a Nazi. "Sorry, Mr. Kirowitz." She sat down not too far from the new kid. "But in seriousness, this place isn't too bad. Right noble steed?" She tossed him a package of pop tarts. Dash had been her best friend for most of her life, she was glad that they had most of their classes together. They had done almost everything together. He was her first kiss when they were like seven. He was the first one she showed her boobs to when she got them. Hell, he was the only one. He was also the only boy she'd ever kissed. She just really didn't think like that. She still kinda thought boys were icky in that aspect. She didn't think about kissing and boyfriends. She knew he wished she did. And she hoped that when she did, she would think about him. But she didn't know.
Sabine noticed the the teacher looking at her, she gave him a nervous smile. He was handsome and there was something about him that seemed so warm and inviting, pulling her to talk to him. Sometimes she would get gut feelings about people, they were usually right. But the way he was looking at her, she never seen anyone look like that. He both made her feel noticed and really uncomfortable at the same time. And the blonde lady in the door with the gruff voice was right, he did look a bit under the weather.

Dash smiled and accepted the pop tarts. She always had the best stuff. And she always shared. "Yeah it's not too bad. Definitely could be worse. But hey, when you make friendly friends its all the better. Right?" He was trying to make the boy feel more comfortable. Right now he looked like he might shit his pants.
Kieran gave them a tentative smile as he pseudo relaxed. They seemed nice enough and it felt genuine. He had practiced English with Terryn all summer and tried to drop as much of the accent as possible but a light gaelic lilt remained. "So 'ave you guys lived here all your life?"
After Ivan assured El that he was fine he just closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths to settle his stomach. Once he regained his composure he reopened them and looked to the cute little girl that was to be his lifemate one day and smiled at her before busying himself with something at his desk. He didn't want to keep staring at her and take the chance that she would run off screaming. Today was going to be interesting. He decided to write Anna an email. It simply stated : "She's here."

"All of it that I can remember. My parents adopted me when I was about four. They found me through a organization in Chicago, But I've been here ever sense. Where are you from, cause it's not here." She smiled at him, just making pleasant conversations waiting to see who else would come walking through the door.
The teacher had caught Sabine's gaze again, she blushed and look down at her desk. She pulled a notebook out of her back pack and just busied herself doodling in the margins. Why couldn't she stop wanting to look at him? She really wanted to go up and talk to him, but she didn't know what to say and she didn't want to have people calling her teacher's pet again. Not on the first day.

Kylianne and Lydia walked into the room together. They rode the same bus because they lived two houses apart. They were both super excited to finally start high school. Kyli was less than pleased that her sister was an upperclassmen though. Keira was a bitch. Sweet as pie to everyone else, but a bitch to her to the point that she had refused to ride in with her this morning. She waved at Alli and walked over to the little group that was forming pulling Lydia behind her. "Good morning! How are you? Aren't you totally excited to be in high school right now!"
Raven snuck into the classroom and avoided the large group in the back. Instead she saw Sabine and walked over to sit next to her. "Whatcha drawin'?"

Alli smiled at the girls walking in. "Eh, it's alright. But look, Dash and I met this cool guy right here. He won't tell us where he's from though. His name is Kieran. Kieran, this is Kyli and Lydia. They are pretty awesome, for cheerleaders." She stuck her tongue out at them.
Sabine looked up at Raven. They had been happy loners together. She was the only one that really knew why she was so tired all the time. Raven had been there for her when her parents had first gotten sick a few years ago. They barely got out of bed anymore and they couldn't really afford at home care more than for her to go to school. She felt guilty going to school everyday and leaving them with a stranger. But they insisted. The doctors said they probably wouldn't live long enough to see her graduate. But three years later, they still didn't know exactly what was wrong with them.
"Um, you know, I'm not even sure." She looked down to see a pair of eyes, with a slight movement to them. She knew they were suppose to be blue. She knew who they belonged to, but she didn't know how she could draw his eyes like that. She hadn't even really gotten a good look at them.

Kieran smiled a genuine smile. At least the kids were nice. "'Ello. I'm from Glasgow. I've been 'ere all summer though." Dash actually liked listening to him talk. It was different. Kyli stuck her tongue out right back at Alli. Now that they were in high school the games would be better and they could travel more.
Raven looked down at the pair of eyes she was doodling. "I wish I had half the talent you have. That's really good. And you weren't even focusing on it." She snuck a peek at the teacher and then leaned forward and whispered, "He's kinda hot. Don't you think?" She pretty much knew what Sabine's answer was going to be. She didn't pay attention to things like that. But she really liked making her blush.

Sabine blushed deeply and looked back down at her notebook. "I... um.... I hadn't noticed. And he's our teacher! Raven, you are awful! And so wrong!" She giggled slightly, shaking her head.

Raven giggled and shrugged. "What? We're in all new territory. We have eyes and we can use them however we see fit. And I say he's gorgeous. So much hair I just want to play with it." She giggled again. At least Sabine seemed to be in a good mood.

Sabine just looked at her and stammered. " He's a teacher. You are so bad!" She squeaked a little louder than she intended to. Her eyes got wide and she covered her mouth with both hands, really hoping that no one heard her.
Alli looked up, "Raven, did you step on that poor girls toe! Or are you smuggling a squeaky toy!" She smirked at the two girls. For the most part she got along with everyone from last year. They weren't all close, but Alli tried really hard to be nice to everyone.

Raven giggled at Sabine's squeaking and then laughed louder when Alli perked up. "Nope. I stepped on her morals."
Ivan hadbeen tuning in to their conversation. He needed to hear her voice. It was soothing his soul and relaxing him. He could listen to it for eternity. And now he was the teacher fantasizing about his student. Way to go Ivan!

Sabine just sat there gaping like a fish searching for water to live. "I...I..I...." She just turned the brightest shade of red, smacked Raven in the arm and just buried her face in her arms on the desk.
Right about then two more students entered. A tall boy about 6' and a very tiny girl, right around 5' even. They looked very similar, black hair and odd gray/silver eyes. They were babbling back and forth in a language that only they seemed to understand. It had a pattern to it, but it wasn't any thing that Alli could pick up on. The girl was bouncy and full of giggles. The boy was beautiful, with a relatively deep voice. Wren picked out two seats for them towards the back so Caden could stretch out. They plopped down and turned to the group. "Hey there, This is Caden..." Caden picked without missing a beat. "And this is Wren" Then they spoke in perfect unison. "And it's a pleasure to meet you!" Then they both just smiled. They loved doing things like that around new people. The had made up their own doubletalk style language when they were toddlers. They still used it often, especially when they needed to have a private conversation in a public setting.
Alli just looked at the two new kids. She didn't know weather to be scared, weirded out, or impressed. She was settling somewhere in the middle. "Um.... K... I'm Allison. Welcome to Earth."

All eyes turned to the two kids that had just say down. Raven was in awe of how large the boy was. She wasn't sure if he was in the right classroom. Kieran just looked at them speechless. Kyli and Lydia found Caden oddly beautiful. Lydia was just happy that she wasn't the only one with a unique eye color. Not that her color was unique but there weren't many people that had one green eye and one blue.
Dash smiled after he smacked Alli's arm. "Welcome to Kansas City. I'm Dash. This is Kieran, Kylianne and Lydia. And those two over there are Sabine and Raven. Gees you'd think they'd never seen an attractive guy before." He winked at Wren. She was gorgeous. And he didn't know where this Mr. Smooth attitude came from but he liked it. Probably a high school vibe or something.
